Ducati Frame Slider Kit – Under the Bodywork Frame Sliders
748/S, 749, 749 Dark, 996/S, SuperSport 620, 800, 900 & 1000
SpeedyMoto now offers you the same quality that’s in their standard frame slider kit in an Under-the-Bodywork Frame Slider Kit.
- With SpeedyMoto’s Under-the-Bodywork design, there is no need to drill holes in your expensive bodywork.
- Because the Sliders stay under the bodywork, it keeps your bike looking clean and all original.
- With no protruding slider to snag a curb or grass, it’s less likely to turn a simple lowside into a catostrophic highside.
The new under-the-bodywork frame slider system takes advantage of the bodywork, by using it as an integral component in aiding the damage control process. The new mushroom-shaped slider pucks mates with the inner body panel, creating a large reinforced structure that spreads an impact force along the entire body panel. As a result, this dispersed force causes less damage to any one point of the motorcycle.
Using the Under-the-Bodywork Kit won’t prevent damage to your bodywork in the event of a crash; however it will help save other more expensive operating components that reside just under your bodywork.
“What they’re made of makes a big difference.”
The SpeedyMoto frame slider systems are the strongest systems available on the market today. This Ducati system is comprised of not only superior HDPE plastic sliders, but also an exceptionally strong Steel infrastructure. Since Ducatis utilize the engine as a stressed member of the chassis, the motor mounts and fasteners contribute greatly to the overall rigidity of the bike. This requires a tough engine bolt and fasteners.
The SpeedyMoto frame slider kit includes an extremely durable Chromoly steel engine bolt. Precision-ground, thread-formed and quenched and tempered to an aircraft grade tensile strength of 185,000 psi, our bolt far surpasses OEM specs (as well as other manufactures) in both strength and wearability. SpeedyMoto employ stainless steel for the integral engine nuts and slider support, not unlike the high-strength engine bolts used by Ducati race teams. Corrosion resistant and strain-hardened stainless steel is ideal for the crucial applications of holding your motor in, supporting the entire chassis, and providing a reliable platform for the actual slider.
SpeedyMoto uses High Density Poly Ethylene (HDPE)plastic for the slider puck. Unlike other plastics like Delrin, the malleability of their pucks means they will absorb impact and defuse the transmitted energy, becoming the “sacrificial part”, instead of breaking more expensive components.
